Kylian Mbappé and Robert Lewandowski both converted second-half penalties as France and Poland played out a 1-1 draw at Euro 2024, with Les Bleus forced to settle for runners-up spot in Group D.
Mbappé, making his return from a broken nose, broke the deadlock from the spot in the 74th minute. However, Lewandowski responded with a penalty of his own in the 79th minute to cancel out the lead.
France controlled most of the possession in the match and created the better chances, but they were unable to find a winner. The draw means that France will face the runner-up from Group C in the round of 16, while Poland will face the winner of Group C.
France needed all three points to secure top spot in the group, but Lewandowski's goal ensured that Poland remains in contention for a place in the knockout stages.
